Not Our Night

By serenesavage91

For a night, I lie in silence.
For a night, I envy the stars.
Tonight I need a moment,
Tonight just isn't ours.

I could take your hand in mine,
I could kiss and cross that line.

Or I could lay here silent,
How you keep me, silent.

I could touch,
I could cry,
I could beg,
I could try.

But then,

You could touch,
You could kiss,
You could give,
You could love.

Tonight I lie silent,
Tonight I envy the stars.
Tonight you could be mine,
But tonight just isn't ours.
