Self Loathing

By BloodyMercy

Dissolution of the darkest thoughts
I find myself wishing for them again
Damaged aspirations of a future untold
And then the play unfolds

Coming on as a vortex of misery, hate and vengeance
I seek to abolish the light in their eyes
descending on the brightest of thoughts like a thief in the night
pillaging the thoughts of hope and self-fulfilling prophecy

Abandoning the visage of a common man
taking on the image of an earnest friend
delectable hatred garnering the respect of the soon to be fallen
I will rise to the apex of their dreams

Leaving them begging for grace, mercy and penance
no idea that what they have created
formed from their ignorance
They’ll be left looking for answers as to why…

When they look in the mirror searching for the answers
they will be left with one image
the haunting and subversive portrayal of
ME.
