Letting Go

By LiesWithin

Learning to let go must be the hardest thing to do
You hate the thought of what you may lose

You question what you could have done differently
Sometimes, you have to open your eyes and see

What's said and done is written in stone
Don't be afraid of being alone

Find yourself in the chaotic thoughts that cloud your mind
Pull yourself up, and don't let regret leave you blind

Throw away the feelings you thought were real
But learn that it is okay to feel

I can't promise that you'll never get hurt
But I can say that you can't be afraid of the pain
Once, your heart may have been thrown in the dirt
But in time you'll realize not all people are the same

Letting go must be one of the most agonizing things to do
But, how could I feel regret, when I have someone like you?
