Lowell Revelations (or, why I won't be back)

By katsmeow

My stay at Lowell has been the worst year of my life so far
It's shown me just how dumb and petty people really are
Before this year, I thought most people, basically, weren't bad
but now my eyes are open and it makes me awfully sad
The women here reveal themselves to be stupid and mean
From alcohol or drug abuse, not one of us are clean
They take advantage of each other any time they can
Their selfish greed eclipses love for woman, child or man
They focus in on what they want, no matter what the cost
Then bitch and cry about the things they've thrown away and lost
Their children sent to foster homes, their men that screw around
I listen to all their complaints and never make a sound
The inmates aren't the only trifling people in this place
The guards are drunk on power and they rub it in our face
The pleasure that they take from telling inmates what to do
makes them seem like monsters to those wearing prison blue
The guards that treat us like we're people don't last very long
The way the inmates treat them makes them quickly change their song
If the quacks they hired for Doctors were to advertise it more
They'd have to wear their beaks and feathers outside their front door
And nursing care? My word! I've never seen such a disgrace
Their bedside manners guarantee no jobs outside this place
So all in all I have to say that my experience
Has hammered home how horrible it is behind this fence!!
