Self Hate

By LiesWithin

It was like water, it enveloped me and I couldn't breathe
It was like darkness, I was blinded and I didn't know who to be

It was like I followed this path with twists and turns,
But somewhere along the way I got lost, never to be found
Like I never knew what happiness was and only felt hurt
Like I was wandering in circles, round and round

It was like a sharp stab to the heart, so quick and painful
It was like I was holding onto this barbed wire and I didn't know how to let go

Now its like, I'm so full of anger and pain
And I hate myself for being this way
