An Empty Cup
By Flying indigo express
Tic Tock
And the man watched the clock
While the hours of his life past him by
Though he may try, he could not make himself die
And pain of fear chose to reside
Tic Tock
And the man slept before the clock
While the hours brought another life
Images of a wedding day, children who laugh and play
fade into the morning light
Tic Tock
The man died before the clock
And the life unlived came to an end
And as the light faded, one thought rose so jaded
Don't live a life as hollow as mine

What an impressive piece I felt goosebumps as I read it. It's thrilling what a good poem is capable of, I clearly saw the man before the clock as he slowly died out of pace as I read. Much enjoyed, thank you.

"The life unlived had came to an end" this is my biggest fear. This poem shows how bad a man can be broken by a women. It left me with the question, "What is the value of a procrastinating man's life?"
