Take It In.

By Elle Amore

There's this sick nostalgic feeling
that I often get from seeing
Lips left in shades of cherry red
Along the base, not at the head.

I draw in every bit of taste
So rare for me; I cannot waste
Because the cost a habit brings
is better spent on smarter things.

But now I cannot bring myself
to go more than a day without
The sweet head rush and bitter taste
And leaving kisses at the base.

I'll seek them out in times of stress
in times of need; to help me rest
Because this act I truely find
Does wonders on the soul and mind.

A sense of joy and memory
Often will envelope me
When I purse my lips and then begin
To draw a breath and take it in.
