Lost Love's Atomic Blues

By Aengri Somnia

Truly, i have loved
you, my radiant poison;
madly, deeply dark
through the falling fire.
Sadly, i have learned
pain to be a funny thing;
raspy radiation burns
lain ‘cross upon skin...
Horrid as the first shock feels;
it’s in the days that follow the split
that the real rot sadly starts,
and faces fallout, in painted peels.
