Ball in a chain

By The Masque

Today I am
A ball in a chain
Linked to my madness
My feelings constrained

When darkness takes me
Her hand across my heart
A touch of cold doubts
Sets my reason apart

There I dream of strange desires
Jouneys eldritch and bold
And in my mind by taking part
My cold heart seem to unfold
