Distant Universes

Distant Universes

Testing the fixtures of reality
Heirloom varieties of us in the greying day
Huddled in the caress of the softly lit,
Radiation of distant universes
With the perfect formation of words on your lips
Forget that I am unsophisticated
And I’ll forget all the golden dawns
that have exploded under your eyelids
that have given rise to my aching arms
But let me keep the stars
and the tapestry of memories
woven into the deepest cavities of my heart
