Roots

By Alice_I_Wonder

Let us never forget where we come from: the grass, the water, the wind.
Let us remember our friends of the trees and the animals.
We can make it to distant places: moon, planets, stars.
We can create great things: art, science, machines.

Let us know we are made of our earth; our star stuff.
Let us be humbled by our memories.

We can create wonders of our own, our ideas.
We can destroy what others have made, our home.

Let us remember our roots.

We can create a new.

Author's Note:

I am aware this isn't "dark" per say, and it may be a little "hippie," but we need to remember where we come from in our endeavors.
