Clung too closely

By Derelict Dream

Did you ever fear to be yourself?
Do you know no matter how you act,
That you'll scare away all love you felt,
If you can't keep secret that one fact?

I apologize to all I've loved,
To everyone I wanted near...
For being true to mine own heart,
And disregarding all my fear.

At some point I knew it wrong,
To open up my heart to you.
But still I stumbled full headlong,
Into the whirlwind I knew was you.

Simple and beautiful. I understand the feeling of holding on to someone so tightly that you pull them down with you.☆
