The Traveler

By Alice_I_Wonder

I'd stay there forever, if I didn't have to go
No longer a traveler, a place to call home.
The sun rises, and sets though
Opportunity comes knocking
In this ever changing world
We're left only wandering.

This place I've left, the home left forgotten
I've left my roots there, my heart is lost there.
Piece by piece the void will begin
Never forgetting, never to happen again.

I am the traveler, here never to stay
I pass the journeyman and hermit each day.
The prince knows of me, and his kingdom too.
I give my happiness to them everyday.

I am the traveler my name left unknown
My heart left on the line wherever I go.
Not to be remembered, the memory fades
Will they remember me, the friends that I've made?

To go back to my lost home, the place I've lost
Give up life of a traveler, give up the cost.

But I am the traveler, I leave and not stay.
They would never remember, the memory

Fading
away.
