Just a man

By gretchen

Behind these walls
i am safe from you
filled with thorns and razors
no one is getting through

i keep my heart enclosed
in a box without the key
i will never get close
you will never get inside of me

it's so easy
for my emotions to shatter
and you become a stranger
and nothing matters

you can not destroy me
i have already come undone
i'm no stranger to the darkness
your not the only one

to try and destroy
what you can't understand
but your bleeding on my walls
after all your just a man
