illuminate

The sun appeared
illuminating your face
everthing I never liked
was suddenly erased

Could it be
that when the rain disappears 
the butterflies will dry their wings
and your a comfort to be near? 

the struggles of this life
can drown our emotions 
and bury love
in the depth of oceans

but on occasion 
when the sun lights the sky
my heart illuminates 
like that very first time

and if only for a moment
life does not seem so tragic
and my heart burns like the sun
and I'm lost in the magic
