What do you see when you look into the mirror
Does the reflection warp or become clearer
Are you satisfied with what is there
Or do you simply wish to disappear
Can you handle the naked truth within
Or do you bury it like trash inside the rubbish bin
Underneath the cake-like front of makeup
When you know it’s just a reality that’s made up
A show for all of society to look upon
Are you truly happy with the face you’ve put on
Can you accept the dark circles of truth
Beneath eyes that sparkle with thoughts uncouth
And lips that crack and bleed with every smile
Skin that stretches tight and all the while
You’re breaking under the weight of this disguise
Each wrinkle representing all the lies
And still each day you smooth and blot
Concealing all the flaws and rot
In time it will catch up to you
And then what is it you shall do?
