The Girl In Grey

By goingnowhere

I see five people
But one of them doesn't belong
She wears a grey sweatshirt
Grey like her emotions
That dims the smile on her face

She surrounds herself with people
Work, is overwhelmingly bleak
And she is UTTERLY ALONE
Tired of keeping up the fight
Despite the good people around her

I see one girl
Struggling to keep breathing
One girl that feels some comfort from her grey sweatshirt
The one girl that hides in plain sight
Drowning in a vast sea of judging eyes

Judging eyes that loom overhead
Always looking down on the girl in grey
Who wears grey to reflect her emotions
The one girl barely keeping afloat
Drowning in a vast sea of judging eyes
