Doubt

By FrozenButterfly

What lies behind the shadow of the cross
As sunlight a stoic wooden face reveals
Do we really want to see all we have lost
To bring forth from darkness all we have concealed
What pain lies hidden underneath
Despite the guise of a welcoming embrace
How deep do we wish to gaze beneath
That false trust we have deemed unwavering faith
