The Only One

By Bittersweet Life

Look at me, what do you see?
A broken man? A blackened heart?
Can you see through these eyes?
Can you see what lies inside?
When I speak, what do you hear?
Do you understand, or merely listen?
Can you feel what I feel? Can you see what I see?
Oh what I would give to be naive
Take a look at the world and tell me, do you see?
I can't be the only one
When I look at the world, why can't I breathe?
Am I the only one?
Open your eyes, and see for the first time
See the world as it truly is
Open your ears, and listen to the cries
The cries from the broken
Open your mind, and understand
I'm not the only one.
