Fractals

By alesana

What is it here
That settled ash
Upon this wilted flower?
How has this bloom
Been now so dampened?
The thoughts of gods of tragedy
Melt its petaled bliss
To fractals in the dust.

Then sun like cries appealing
Life redeeming, silent screaming -
A plea for mercy now rewarded -
The touch that renews all hope
Restore my soul to glory
My one and only love.

Walk beside me softly
Wish my sleeping heart to peace
Calm my panicked breathing
Leave my darkest shadows
In fractals in the dust.
