Broken Trust

I hurt her with my words
My beautiful little leopard
Though I felt it was a must
I still broke her trust
When I told someone else her secret
But though it's something I regret
I did it to keep her safe from harm
Because there was a sounding alarm
She was too close to the edge
I wanted someone to help her off that ledge
And even though she hates me now
I hope to earn her forgiveness somehow
