Mineshaft
By LostInDarkness
They say "when life hands you lemons"
To make lemonade
But what
if life hands you Nothing?
Can you still make Something?
Ive been raped and abused
Beaten and neglected
But still i
put on a smile
To make others happy
But no one seems to
mind that im not happy
No one seems to care that my smile is fake
What if one day i didnt smile?
Would they be able to notice?
Ive lost so much that i hold dear
Ive lost it all
So
why should i smile?
Do they even care?
Maybe i can turn
this all around
Perhaps they do care
But if they dont
Im
just setting myself up for hurt
So i guess my life is like a
Mineshaft
You dont know what you will find
But at the end of
the tunnel
You find what you were looking for.

Life is but a masquerade...we all live behind fake smiles, depends on the time. This was one of the most honest expressions of life as we know I have seen in a long while. Keep it real. Your expression and wording excels in drawing out the real person that is hiding behind their own "fake" smile.

A lot of people hide behind fake smiles. We never know who is truely suffering. Blah.
