Memory Lane

By Cassidello

Forbiddance cast upon me, to never walk down memory lane
To leave it far behind
To mind the people who may come
And kindly give me a ride
The road I saw was tempting
The road I saw was there
Though warnings echoed endlessly
I ventured into no where

They said to be afraid, but happy's what I saw
The happy was so strange, for nothing I had at all
And deeper onto memory lane I ran
And chased the suns
That shined the diamond dew like rain
A fool would born not to go
Why would forbiddance be the case to my sweet return here again?

But soon the suns they faded,
As I traveled down the road
And frightened I heard the cries and heavy repetition of lies
Hover as if from above
And rain began to pour, and shelter was no more
And bitter winds prevented my return
From off the dreadful road

"Away with you!" The voices say
Blood begins to stain
The road that lies ahead
And fear becomes my uninvited friend
and balance leaves me to the floor.

I remove my shoes from on my feet
And tear pieces of my clothes
To sap up the bloody stains
That ruin the once beautiful melody lane

A crack of thunder frightens me
And I run in search for suns
That were there, here,
Once guided me
Down the joyous lane

And further down the road, theres light
The unholy glow, I dare not glance
But darkness has now blinded me
So I can not look behind
Thats when I see the sign

"NO RETURN FROM MEMORY LANE
HERE YOU SHALL REMAIN"
Panic and horror flows through my veins
As the monsters now lash at my face
And the demons they all know my name!
And the voices surely keep me insane
And the once smooth road now covered in shattered tar
Cut my knees, cut my feet
and leave me memorable scars

Forbiddance was cast upon me, to keep way from memory lane
To blind me from the hidden evils
For all truth surfaced and learned
Prevented my return
And shadows now forever whisper to me
"Forget not ever, your "beautiful" memories"
