Finally Mom, I'm Sorry...

By Ultimate Mistake

I seek for unsung lullabies.
Beautiful songs to settle my cries.
Where have you gone mommy?
Why did you forget me?
I can't help that I fell asleep.
I'm sorry.
You left at night when everything that is secret cannot be shown.
You made me feel helplessly alone.

The corner i sit in is terribly cold.
I remember the times you used to tuck me in.
I'd kick off the covers, but you'd come back to wrap me up again
What happened to mommy after that night?
How could I have left your love out of my sight?

I remember the day I abandoned you...
It was the first time I saw mommy cry.
No one knows how terrible I felt inside.
You held me with tears flowing,
repeatedly saying "goodbye"

No words could escape my throat
The wonderful memories I had with you filled my head
"I love you" was something I almost never said
I don't blame you for divorcing my dad,
but hiding him from me was something I could never understand.

I'm sorry that's how it had to end.
you on my shoulder under a cold gray sky.
But Mother...I was not leaving you behind
