Memories of You

By alesana

Memories of you,

All tied up in that

Little red box

From so long ago.

I read the words again -

Mine, then yours -

Wish I could have you back.

I want this chaos over,

I want Prince Charming here.

Though my mind knows

It won’t be long –

In fact only a matter of days –

But if ever there were a time I need you,

It is most certainly now.

He keeps you locked away,

Deliberately

Away from me

As though all this were my fault.

You are my comfort,

My protection,

From the harm another caused.

And now you have been taken

And I have nothing left.
