Avenge Me, My Love

By alesana

'Twas my heart torn and bleeding
'Twas thine eyes awatch my soul
Thy gaze it lies upon my breast
That final night I came to final rest.
Mine everlasting darkness in
A world of sun and sky
I ceased to be all parts of me
And surely thou canst see
Though it was not
A fair time to go
My life was in his hands
And if thou truly loveth me, my wish is thy command
Go and seek the empty one
Whose conscience seems to lack
Go and find this evil one
And beg him bring me back.
At this impossibility he'll sigh
And rescind a nervous step
Thou willst advance and take the chance
With never a look askance.
