The King of Liaz

By alesana

he sits upon his jeweled throne
day and night and takes delight
in the subjects he does rule
they do his bidding, help him live
a life of sin and pleasure
his wives can bear no children
so he takes all that he pleases
his slaves will build and sweat and die
and never breathe a word
the children of the fair Liaz
will search and hunt for food
the men will find their women
and the women will please the men.
sunsets over the sea of Liaz
never fail to amaze
but in the morning, when he awakes
the king of Liaz will open his eyes
and see this barren place.
