Great Walls and Burning Bridges

By maliceman

I can feel you chipping away at me
a little hammer and chisel
I'm building this wall back faster
than you can break it
I know you're trying to love me
but I don't think i can take it
I'm burning bridges faster than you can build them
If you reach my lonely island
you'll see how decrepid I really am
I'm pushing you away
I'm keeping my distance
But you keep laying down mortar
You keep drilling into my walls
Probing for hope
Looking for love in the wrong places
I'm a lost cause
Drowning in misery
Flooding with anguish
and Burning with anger
Just ignore my S.O.S.
It's a part of me that doesn't understand
It's sending flares
Trying to get out of here
I've locked it up for good reason
everytime it gets out
It takes a piece of my heart to the girl who rescued it
everytime it returns empty-handed
this S.O.S. is not for you
you cannot save me
I'm broken...
