Chances

By maliceman

I love it when you covet me
(but covet me no more)
I'm tired of this little game
(i can't take it anymore)

I couldn't help but love you
(i would have always cared)
No matter what i said or did
(i would have always been there)

But as you say
you can't love me
Without God
a monstrosity

You're so much better off
            so much better off
without me here
Just go back to God
        go back to God
Paint your smiles and hide your fear

and for all of time
my soul will burn
as long as your facade continues
you will never learn

So throw away this chance
Caress the wound with salt
If at first you don't succeed
It's your own damn fault!

You're so much better off
            so much better off
without me here
Just go back to God
        go back to God
Paint your smiles and hide your fear

Just don't antagonize my hope
Don't wrap my throat in rope
Don't push me off the ledge
Don't say it's for the best!

So throw away this chance
Caress the wound with salt
If at first you don't succeed
It's your own damn fault!
