Behind Closet Doors

By TakeMeAsIAm

I'll never forget the way it felt
to stand behind your closet doors
waiting for you to find me.
It was as if my veins were filled with stars...
stars that slowly turned to steel,
slicing my veins with every beat,
killing me from the inside out.

You'll always have the best of me.
The part of me that dreamed,
that loved without reason.
Before my rose colored glasses
were shattered under your boots.
Behind those doors I was in love.
And in a stolen moment you loved me too.

Never again will you find me dreaming
behind your closet doors...
