The Battle

By Starshine

I whisper gently towards myself
A whispering voice that has been
praying for a long time,
trying to embrace,
trying to reach
the trembling hole of sadness and emptiness

Of despair, powerlessness
a dead end
On the endless roads of nightmares

I cannot find more weapons
to fight this battle
Darkness is in command
and I know where it obscures,
but are not admitted

The past touches me with sharp blades
a cowardly attack on my back.
I can not be protected

The night is my enemy,
filled with pure evil
Trembling memories pulls me from within,
so hard breath bursts

Last embers of hope
burns slightly behind an exhausted shell.
Please let me breathe.
Release me for a litte while,

before the next battle begins

Hectic style of writing, dark and heavy. LIKE!

Sounds like inner conflict. I like the flow of this.
