starlight

By Guttercat

she is a star twinkling in a blazing,

beautiful firmament.

he sat there gazing,

tracing her path through the seasons.

recording the silence of the spheres,

he whispered, "I love you still."

she remembered loving the stars,

learning the patterns of their celestial dance.

yet he who wrote this poem but knew,

his only star in the night is you.
