Rewards Unto Us Both

By The Silent Pendulum

You're a hideous beast like me
We both fall out of place in places of obscure absurdity
I am right, so come let us be
As the outcasts
As the unknown
Like the dark reaches of a cave
Where only the brave will walk
And the fearful flee for fear of we

Somewhere we shall find our place in this world
But with a consequence
A price
Like all things must be
Today is another that will be without hope
But fear is soon cast off when we travel

Through fire
Through snow
Through the hollow caverns of time that echoes
Our failure to belong
Our failure to be accepted

Without a home or a name
We walk on as ghosts in the rain
Unseen
Unnoticed
Until our fates have ended and we lie in the cool earth

Our place
Our only home
Our claim as we are rightfully owed
