winter

By Forsaken Me

autumn leaves decay in defeat
   the sun is so cold
granite tombs protect the death
  tears freeze this soul
winters found a place to stay
   the touch of sorrow lasts
lays frozen on the ground
   like memories of the past
alone to walk left to fall
   a painful world laid barren
locked in place are the gates
   winters found its home
