One More Day

By Elf

a little child,
ten years old,
stands in the kitchen,
contemplating her life,
tears trickle down her face,
just one more day when she has suffered hell,
she wonders who would miss her if she died,
she wonders who would even notice,
she looks at the knives in the draining board,
and then the pills in the cabinet,
she thinks for a moment,
then turns and walks away,
to go into her room and cry,
the hopeless sound should be a relief,
she has chosen for one more day to live,
will she choose life again tommorow?
