The Eyes Have It

By Miss Macabre

You.
You were--are--
So beautiful.
So pure, you seemed.
You said you were waiting.
You said I was wrong.
You didn't agree with my ideals.
And then we met
And I saw the look.
I knew you were lying.
I know you're just like me.

You can't deny
The animal I saw.
Your eyes
Turned dark,
Turned black,
Turned cold.
They penetrated me,
And I felt the ice
Go straight through my skull.
Those hands,
They got hot.
They got anxious.
They burned my skin.

Why did you lie to me in the first place?
