I Wish You Had Been Real...

By chococat_122

Perhaps it wasn’t all your fault...
Did I expect too much of you?
Perfection...just the way you were.
Everything about you,
That’s what I loved.
I truly loved you.
But it was never you that I loved...
Did you put out that image,
Or did I create it?
Or was it a little of both?
I wish what we had could've been real,
I wish you were what you seemed...
I wish you had meant it when you said you loved me...
I tried my best to show you the real me
And ended up pushing you away...
{You said you loved me...}
Why did you play with my heart like that?
It doesn’t matter now,
What's done is done.
And the important thing is
Through being betrayed,
I learned to trust, and to truly love.

sounding pretty wise for your age, good job

i believe in love right down to the nuts and bolts of the guts and gore. nothing less will satisfy. i'm beginning to think 'real love' reaches through the ether. very interesting write. i enjoyed it.
