Diminished Doors

By Phoenix

As i lay,
Sleepless,
Deep within thought.
The emptyness consumes me,
the darkness becomes apparent
Is it the dark i fear?
No, its the loneliness it brings.

They say one door closes, another opens,
but the hallway grows smaller
and the doors slowly fall from their hinge, disappearing
I realise i am stuck,
the lights go out,
Hallway grows dim.
Alone and afraid i run my hands along those walls,
Hoping to find a door.

A light condescends the hallway,
it reaches out as i bathe in its beauty.
I grasp for the air hoping to get a touch
But the light is ghostly and wont let me.
the light fades from my eyes as the darkness returns
i realise the doors are all gone,
the emptyness becomes once again apparent
pull me from this torment
I long to touch you gentleness,
the warmth of your soul.

Dont leave me in the dark...
