Sisters of The Sea

By Petra Creffield

The sky looked on, as bruised as my spirit The sea was boiling with my own fury The starlings danced in perfection once known I feel the loss I feel the loss Of your mind and mine Lost in waves of wine Both drowning with hands raised to forgotten heavens We twist in the deeps, I yearn to let go Of your dead weight Know that I won’t Can’t Entwined from the womb Swimming in the same blood I look out for our shore Sure that there is more Love Peace And waters calm © Petra Creffield 2008

perfection within that last line... well-crafted work, and a beautiful, resonating pic to round the experience... Thank you for a great read!

  • A former member wrote: Absolutely wonderful! I especially love your line about both drowning with hands raised to forgotten heavens. That's a really powerful line.
