Tunnels

By Rock Faerie

An undetected aroma strangely infiltrates the deep chambers of nobility. It reeks of malice and brings the destruction of hopes for a distant future that still bears no name. Walking quickly, and desperate for clean air, the aroma grows stronger as the search for a way out of the dark maze forces me to once again see that nothing is ever what it seems…it's so much more. My eyes no longer deceive me as delusions somehow become real, and the only way to murder this strange aroma is to find its source, buried deep within the maze of what was thought to be for beautiful minds, so they should become lost in dreams of enchantment that have no end. So they should wander aimlessly without any recollection of any fear that infiltrates the psyche. Yet the aroma will continue to slither about, and the source will remain in the heart of everything until my eyes finally open to find it squirming restlessly beneath my bed of sheltered dreams…
