Blue Monday

By Petra Creffield

Blue Monday One day this will all be gone Am I gonna spend each day Wishing it all away? So tired of this fright, of this fight To find the will, the joy in anything at all Bone weary I smile and soldier on. Wish I had time to cry Let the tears wash away this pain inside The sadness, this smiling mask can hide. It’s weighing me down Making my feet fall heavy on the ground The lethargy and apathy, run cold and thick Through veins clogged and sluggish Blocking airwaves and heartways Suicidal sump, soul and stew. Drowning in it all again Dark streams that run into eternity That I never seem to escape. Not even love is the cure, Not sure there is one anymore. I’m all out of hope I’m all out of dreams They all came true And still my heart screams. © Petra Creffield 2005
