What if God lost his job

By beamish

Have you wondered what would happen if God lost his job

Couldn't pay the bills on all those mansions and afterlife thrills

What
then-where would man place his
TRUST

What about all those souls living the after life of easy

Cruising the streets of gold
Plenty to eat and drink

Then at night they float home to their mansion

Lay their dead heads on silk pillows

One might say it's heavenly

But do they realize that eviction is looming just above

One missed payment - repossession orders nailed to the pearly gates

It's an expensive endeavor for God to fund his crew

The numbers are huge and more show up every day

Looking
for the things they prayed for
The
things the book said would be their
REWARD

So he works away
He prays to his God day after day

That his job will stay intact
So he can afford the nut he carries on his back

Gold streets and mansions for all the dead to sleep

That doesn't come cheap

See - he's really not any different than you and me

Bills
Responsibility

Paid in blood some say-but the boys at
Chase Manhattan

They don't see it that way
Mortgages must be paid

Late is late
Doesn't matter if it's your house

or
the pearly gates
