Hail, fellow word nerds!

It has been sometime since our last contest but now it is time for the madness to resume. This month our newest member Octopus suggested this theme and here is the rundown and criteria.

!!BE SURE TO READ ALL THE CRITERIA OR YOUR ENTRY WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PRIZE.!!


Write and submit an ORIGINAL work about some type of specific cultural folklore or folk idol. Examples could include, Bigfoot or Sasquatch, Paul Bunyon, Trolls, Faeries, Voodoo, Djinn, Pele the volcano goddess, etc..etc..

Draw your inspiration from any source that moves you, the more obscure and outrageous the better!

The key here is to put your own DARK or DARKER spin on these old creatures, gods and tales of myth. Maybe the faeries steal babies and sacrifice them at mushroom circles, or perhaps someone has found a fire flower and used it to make a powerful pact with a demon to grant him/her powers and take over a taco bell or even a village?!


!! DO NOT RE-TELL THE SAME OLD STORIES. WE WILL CHECK !!

CRITERIA

The title of your work must contain the words "Dark Folklore".

Examples.

Bigfoot Rapes the Mayor... Dark Folkore
Dark Folklore: Pele Maims the Settlers.
The Troll stabbed a Duck.(Dark Folklore)

As always this will be judged on a scale and the darker, heretical and more filled with debauchery the better.
