  • "Thank you kindly Natalie. I am a soldier (technically a medic, and I am no longer on active duty--which is to say that I have a day job now, and do the weekend warrior bit once a month). The write does, to some degree, involve some of that. Thank you again."

  • "somehow brought to mind memorial day....and the ghosts of the lost souls haunting the living who did not die beside them....most interesting styling. cheers!"

  • "From the outside looking in this seems like an average poem but i was impressed by how structured this was."

  • "Yes Kinkifrog, often they hold no more power than a moment/point and time in our life where they are needed. Some may consider that to be insufficient, or insignificant. I, personally, do not. Thank you very much for taking the time, and the share of your own back into this. I can hardly imagine a better compliment than that really. It is much appreciated."

  • "here's hoping that the gods of small things hold more sway than their miniscule title.... every time we notice them their power grows ...though they dwindle their nature is that of a seed , with all the inherent power and majesty that holds , under the right conditions...keep them close and nurture them for all their uncivilized beauty ..."

  • "Thank you very much Nimue44. Jane Toppan is an early 20th century poisoner. And, over time, I have attempted to create my own unique style. I believe I am still an amateur, though I do enjoy writing very much, and have for some time. I also enjoy reading, sharing poetry with others. I'd suppose that really depends upon your definition of amateur. Thank you again, very much Nimue, for taking the time and your kind words."

  • "a) I gotta know who Jane Toppan is. b) your style is so well crafted. You are no amateur, I yearn to see how you grow in this site. c) I particularly like how you play with language as a cat with a stamen ball, like a bitter sweet painter. d) Brava! "

  • "Thank you kindly Falloutsaturation. Technically not a good thing, that vagabond heart deal, at least not as written. (not a terrible one either) It is back to the kind of recklessness idea. But I am glad that you enjoyed this, and thank you again."

  • "Oh my god. I love this. The feeling of madness in this work is overwhelming, I really felt connected to the situation and speaker."

  • ""A lingering taste for vagabond heart"....for some reason this particular line calls to some hidden part of me. I love the sense of hesitation and apprehension this has."

  • "Hello Kinkifrog, and thank you for responding. Riposte is Italian for reply or respond, which is not only something that is personally relevant between us, but as the good friend and fellow poet has past away--it takes on a different meaning in this context. I have been writing for a bit, which I am happy to hear showed through. Thank you again for taking the time, it is much appreciated."

  • "I felt like I was intruding on some very personal matters yet curious to know what came before...and it feels like this riposte has spent a long time gestating ... there's some most quotable quotes in here too , you're obviously no stranger to this writing lark...:)"
