  • "Horrific as it is. . .inescapably compelling! Despite my muscles cringing I simply could not stop. And ,oh, the power of the "candy cane" imagery popping up. Damn fine write FD!"

  • "LOL - love it :-) But truth be told, it sounds more like inner dialog than what really went down. I know, cuz I've been there…and the perfect retort comes around as you sit a stew about how arrogant and rude it was - how what you'd really like to say was…………… I enjoyed this :-)"

  • "a powerful and compelling write! How cruel the slow blooming of insecurity - leaving you devastated. You built it remorselessly and I could feel the creep as it took control. Not in any way to take away the power of the poem - just meaning to be helpful: a couple typos - re: "daily reminders of where your really are" (your shot be you) and plaque should be plague :-) "

  • "Thanks Peyton :-) I'm a native New Yorker - but moved down here to the Carolinas in 1996. I am still constantly amazed to see churches pop up pretty much anywhere - and almost instantly gather a congregation! It's… I don't know… weird. LOL"

  • "soul crushing poetry. . .such artistic ability to convey the unexplainable! here I am six months later still soaking wet and miserable. . . if you think you're prepared -you aren't when you think you'll be alright you won''t. . . You'll remember old heartbreaks and wonder how you ever thought that was pain amazing writing! and the knife to the heart you'll dwell for months on what you didn't say - and for years on what you did truly heartfelt P O E T R Y. • "Impressively subtle. Although the loss of what was once perfect love is tragically spoken - the sudden quick-silver knife blade slice of the loss of a child slashes through the mind so quickly, the shock barely registers till 3 seconds later. Very effective write! "

  • "I caught this one using the "random selection" button.....what a present :-) I was completely captured by the flow of both thought and writing. Broken hearts never do quite mend completely. I was particularly taken by this section: and when you sleep, does the past haunt more deeply than any nostalgic moment can muster Very nicely done."

  • "What an absolutely gorgeous "singular moment in time" this poem is. The language is so accessible, the setting familiar enough to "click" with most of us...and the wistfulness palpable. Very nice write :-)"
