  • ""what it is that links two wayward people, like trash floating down the same rainy gutter" - sounds like a hard place for both of them... I like your pieces that add words to a work of art. Miss seeing something new from you around these parts. Ciao, T/S"

  • "Yes, I noticed someone had gone in and given me a lot of 1 ratings. Oh well, I'll take that as a compliment. Nothing to say, so a cowardly black ball dropped into the jar anonymously. : )"

  • "Man, you seem to have had some prophetic visions of what was coming. There was a line in something about artists at the beginning of the Third Reich and it said, "we were just maladjusted enough to know what would come next." Well, me too... and apparently you too. : ) HFS... Ciao, Steve "

  • ""You can't find nourishment in promises A full plate is made of much more..." - man, that statement needs to be printed on the bottom of every ballot and run along the ticker at the bottom of each news channel constantly. Nice work! Ciao, T/S"

  • "That's the journey: finding a way to build a life of meaning. From the earliest days our ancestors try to decorate the dark walls of caves, so they can transfigure them from a dark, cold, cavern in which they can find refuge into something profound ... both a portal to something endless and a link to past tangible deeds. Our caves are now often cheaply built on top of concrete foundations and we are surrounded by latex painted drywall ... but the task is the same. Find a way to build a life of meaning. Meeting our own immediate physical needs and preferences isn't enough for anyone, there has to be more. That's on each of us. Good luck on your journey! Also, welcome to the site. Ciao, T/S"

  • "Man, I was just thinking about that the other day... It has been 20 years since 9/11... It doesn't feel like it, but that is how much time has passed. Such a huge chunk of my life and yet it was so long ago. Oh well, I'll just have to keep bathing in blood of virgins to keep myself young so I can be involved in the next round of whatever comes. I'm ready! : ) "

  • "I was an advisor to Ministry of Finance for the most part, as well as to the Central Bank and Ministry of Defense for a smaller amount of time. A lot of my work had me traveling around to the provinces. I spent a lot of time in Herat, which was pretty nice. Other places were less put together. : ) I was not in uniform, those guys had it a LOT worse off. "
