  • "No wonder they call you rhymebound. This had perfect rhymes in it, barely forcing. I liked this because of the imagery, especially the images of the sea."

  • "I wonder what fates brought me here exactly ten years later. I was such a silly kid with such a silly crush. and maybe with some echo of a siren still ringing somewhere in my head. This does read very much like a song. I could hear fiddles crying in the background of my mind as I read. It makes for a haunting bedtime story. Maybe I'll find myself wandering in here in another ten years, unknowingly ever drawn to its music. I miss you, Lee."

  • "I've read and reread this over the years. So spectacular how you captured the essence of a Mariners song, which is that it is meant to be read aloud at volume. Just perfect, I bow to you sir. "

  • "I just rated it a 10 because I have nothing even remotely intellectually stimulating or mildly expressive to say about this piece. All my words are stuck in my chest with these words. Speechless."

  • "Not the usual approximation of a Siren: the title called me. As your username says, the rhyme here used got me spellbound. Brava!"

  • "Hah! I completely relate. Sometimes it is better that they forget, yes? I know, believe me, I know. You consistently show true skill with syllables, the meaning or emotion is never forced, the idea falls right into place. As right as rain, you are. You don't post nearly enough, RhymeBound. Thanks for the offering."

  • "I just love how you inverted the habitual tendency of considering the Siren as a manipulator who wants her victims to succumb to her chants and meet their end against a reef by exposing its point of view as a loving entity. Beautifully woven, thank you for sharing. "

  • "Wow. Just...wow. This is great. Such a trite sentiment, I know, but really. It's great, wonderful, fabulous, awesome, and whatever else you want to call it. It's so going in my favorites."
