  • "A verbose, yet raw-knit quilt with an almost fractured cadence, the rhythm was seamless and I liked the use of ellipses to create pause, giving more weight to each line. Well written, please, enjoy your stay."

  • "I love your verbiage in this, very captivating, like swansong snaking through your mind, compelling you to delve deeper and darker 'til light's out of reach. Will return to this piece, again. "

  • "The minimal nature of the tanka definitely lends well to the context, and there's always this sense of timelessness I admire in your work, ancient truths enduring. I' always impressed to see just what my fellow poets can fashion from a block."

  • "Such affinity for Nature, the sense of sultry winter shines through in your imagery, I can almost hear the muted crunch of snow and the soft patter of icicles dwindling in the sun. Wonderfully captured, please, stay and grace us more. "

  • "I was in a similar place for awhile, in my own life, I figured if I pushed people far enough away they wouldn't be caught in the imminent meltdown, but those same people stayed and fetched me from the brink. Very earnest piece, stay for awhile, you'll find no judgment here."

  • "I'm surprised someone else picked up on that, my late mother had always been such a source of constant muse...but by the time I wrote this piece, I think I'd exhausted a lot of it, and it just didn't contain the same consistent message or earnest emotion, it felt more like an obligation. I really appreciate your comments, thanks for giving my work a read."

  • "That's actually the initial inspiration, Heritage Port is a scenic location in my home city, and there are numerous water colour paintings of it in the library, I was there for the Wheeling Series of Poetry and had some time to kill before it began, so I wrote this while I was waiting."

  • "I've always enjoyed your interpretation of villanelle, Dan, it merges the traditional form with one of my favourite adaptations, the terzanelle, doing so, you've managed to make it your own; really lends well to the subject matter, I've been evicting my own skeletons, too. Good to see you around these parts, again."

  • "I love the angel-demon dichotomy chosen for this piece, and the earnest quality that comes with unbridled emotion, brings to mind my own paramour; the one person who, despite the wealth of rumours and madness that surrounded me, still tried to bridge the gap, the beauty to my rabid beast. Stay for awhile, hone your craft, you may find this place to your liking."

  • "Brings to mind the context of my writing when I came here 6 years ago, dredging up the kind of latent anguish that no one would dare wish on another. I often cite that poetry is how I make sense of the discord around me...I can tell it's much the same, for you. DarkPoetry is as much a shelter as a place of growth, stay awhile and hone your verse, further."

  • "It felt the same to me, but the vision was met and I couldn't add anything more without it seeming like I was padding it out...this isn't the best example of my work, by far, but I appreciate your feedback on it, nonetheless."

  • "Still, I've made better use of it in the past, I've been thinking for awhile that I should revisit my more technical roots as I feel like I've lost touch with them as of late. "
