The Heist

By ONEANDLONELY

The state of the nation is at an all time low,
political big business makes it so.
I am waiting for a new plan to show.
Maybe on the tube on the late nite news.
Reporters say the things I hate to hear;
”It looks like recession again this year."
What will I see when I look into the mirror?
Seeking the answers I find only clues.

I drank an extra bottle of time yesterday,
which made me notice the change in my way.
If I choose a course that would be okay.
Right is right. I’ll veer to the left instead.
I save my thoughts for reason or just cause.
In case of fire in countries with no laws,
I get close to the ground and walk on four paws.
De-evolution begins in my head...

With divine purpose, and a plastic chain to yank,
pockets turned out I step into a bank.
An easy job if your paper’s not blank.
While in line I wrote words for the teller.
Got to the gate and delivered my note.
From nervous hand here’s the message I wrote;
"Give me your money or I will cut your throat."
I took the prize and hid in my cellar.

I dashed for the border when the coast became clear,
returning back home in about a year.
I threw away the thing that I held dear,
though some things in my heart are still in tact.
When the phone rings, or there’s a knocking on my door
I fold my hands to pray and hit the floor.
The money I took I still have in store.
Two million dollars, a matter of fact.

The life I have lived, is like most people,
blanketing they’re sins while under the steeple.
Within that cover they hide they’re fecal.
With the same chance take the bait most would.
I can not turn back the hands of the clock.
I love my Porche and the boat on my dock.
Days in the sun, and in the night I rock!
I don’t think the thought "Am I bad or good?”
