Raining In the City

By virginalnympho

It's the perfect day for a downpour
With lies pouring from the sky
& the scream of a gospel singing whore
The echo of a heartless lover's cry
The clouds are heavy with remorse
There is no silver lining among the stars
Fighting against an unbeatable force
Drowning sorrows in back alley bars
Puddles filled with guilt on every corner of each street
The wind hollowing out locked away secrets
Blocks filled with introverted lovers whose eyes never meet
Burdened with mistakes and heavy regrets
& standing out on this thunderous night
There's a girl on the brink of suicide
On lookers below can see her tears in the flashes of light
But where where they when she had truths to confide?
She shivers in the unforgiving wind
Though her soul burns in a hellish fire
She never claimed she never sinned
But she never gave into her desires
Her final words mixed into the rain
As she lept into the arms of the dead
She gave into her frightful pain
& the filthy concrete was her deathbed
Another angel fell into sorrow
Lost hope on a stormy eve
Never again to see another tomorrow
She died because he lied & said he wouldn't leave
